About Me

Welcome to the House on Winchester!

Hi…I’m Danelle, the writer behind the House on Winchester.

Welcome and thanks so much for stopping by.

This blog is where I write about all of the happenings around our house.  I don’t only write about room makeovers and repurposing projects, but, also have a little fashion and everyday stuff thrown in there, as well, because, us mid-lifers need a little guidance.

With that being said, I’m obsessed with all things home related, from do it yourself projects to simple budget friendly decorating.  I love hair, fashion, and anything to help with the old aging process.   😉

I have been with my wonderful wifey, Deb, for about 18 years who shares my same passion for it all.

We buy and sell houses – completing most of the work ourselves, flip furniture, and repurpose things out of other people’s cast-offs.  Our DIYs and repurposing projects originally came out of necessity as we wanted really expensive things on a budget of, well…. $0.  That budget sort of puts a wrench into any contractor we may want to hire.   Deb creates her own masterpieces from her small back yard workshop.  I swear, she can whittle a chair out of a used toothpick.

We have 4 grown daughters between us and are moms to a rescue dog, Ivy Rose.   Ivy is in every one of the 14,000 pictures on my phone in which she is basically doing nothing.  See…

Welcome - Ivy Rose House on Winchester

Sweet little Ivy Rose – doing nothing!

We love antique furniture, white ironstone and rolling pins, and have more collections than I care to admit.  We bought a colonial style home fixer upper (understatement) that was built in 1945, acquired by us in 2015 (previous hoarder house).

We focus on decorating in a mix of farmhouse and cottage style, garage sale and flea market finds.  This space is where I share my happiness of our projects… our home…. and EVERYTHING that I love.

Check us out on Facebook and Instagram where you  may find a few extra pictures of our progress.
